Our Omanu School library is a vibrant cheerful place for students to research information from books and the internet, as well as an area for them to enjoy recreational reading. It is open during lunchtime for those who enjoy reading for pleasure or who want to enjoy a quiet indoor game away from the summer sun or winter cold.

Year 4-6 children are allowed to have two books issued at one time, whereas year 1-3 have only one book. We have ensured the juniors have access to both fiction and non fiction books at their level without them having to “search” the whole library. The senior children have an opportunity to become Librarians and assist staff with the lunchtime activities.

Reminders are sent to children with overdue books via their class teacher and if the book fails to resurface a fine is imposed. However if the book turns up later the money will gladly be refunded
